The Ushio Epitex SMBB family is the most versatile set of SWIR LEDs on the market. With a copper heatsink-equipped 5 mm x 5.2 mm package, these surface-mounted, record-breaking LEDs are available in single or multi-chip form.

Each plastic package houses between one and three high-power, 1 mm² chips, with some single-chip packages capable of reaching an output power of 750 mW! This power is effectively tripled, when mounting three chips on one SMBB package. A choice of several lenses also presents the opportunity to select a wide or narrow viewing angle, which can intensify the power of the light source.

Spanning SWIR wavelengths from 1050 nm to 1650 nm, SMBB LEDs are produced in standard increments of 100 nm. For applications that require sensory data to be collected, any of the three chip berths can easily accommodate a photo-detection chip instead.
